What is FunWager?

FunWager is just for fun and does not support online gambling!

FunWager facilitates in-person social fun wagers between multiple Players on any custom event created by a Host consisting of two markets. Players are not required to register (i.e. email etc) and only an alias is required. Once a Host starts and updates an event, players are able to view a real-time leaderboard. The winners of an event are automatically decided by calculating the closest difference between the outcomes of the two markets. Multiple Players can win an event.

FunWager does not facilitate any monetary transactions, nor any sports feeds like events, odds, scores, results and markets... but it is fun! 

What is a Host?

A Host is the creator and owner of a custom fun event on which many Players can place a fun wager. A Host has a public Host name, and a login based on an email address & password. A unique eight letter Host/Venue code (e.g. FUNW-AGER) is automatically generated and associated with a Host. A Host is responsible for starting, updating and ending an event. All event changes/updates are reflected on a real-time leaderboard which is viewable by all Players. 

What is a Player?

A Player places a fun wager on a custom event created and owned by a Host. A Player is anonymous and creates a unique Player alias per Host/Venue. A Player is not required to provide an email address & password.

IMPORTANTLY, a Player is solely linked to the phone on which the Player alias is created and is not transferable. A loss of phone, removal/reinstall of FunWager or logging in as a different Host/Delegate will result in permanent loss of current and previous wagers (or possible rewards). However a registered Host (via email address and password) is permanently linked to a Player alias and can be transferred across multiple devices.

What is a Promo?

A promo is allocated to an Event by the Host to “sweeten”/increase the total fun pot.

What are the different custom Event types?

1. VERSUS Event

A VERSUS event dictates that either Market-1 or Market-2 must be a winner, or a draw can occur. If a fun wager is placed on a Market winning, then the chosen Market must win and if a draw, then a draw must occur. Winners are calculated using a formula of 70% closest to the difference of the winning Market and 30% closest to the difference of the losing Market. However, if the outcome is a draw, then winners are calculated using 50% closest to the difference of each market.

A Versus event can be of type High or Low Result. High Result is default and is when the winning Market has the higher/greater outcome (e.g. Soccer: Team-A goals are greater than Team-B goals). Low Result is when the winning Market has the lower/smaller outcome (e.g. Golf: Person-A score is less than Person-B score).

2. COMBINATION Event

A COMBINATION event dictates that Market-1 and Market-2 are unrelated and are not competing against each other. Therefore there is no win or draw between markets. The event winners are calculated using 50% closest to the difference of each market.

3. FUN JACKPOT Event

A FUN JACKPOT event is also known as a Perfect Prediction event as in order to win, Players must perfectly predict the results of both markets (i.e. 100% correct). If there are no Winners for the event, then the entire pot (i.e. total fun wagers + promotion + fun jackpot seed) is made available for other future Fun Jackpot events. The available Jackpot balance and transactions/results are viewable by all Players who have placed a fun wager with a Host via the Fun Jackpot History menu item.

Fun Jackpot functionality is only available for Hosts who have purchased the "FunWager Pro Plan".

A Fun Jackpot event can optionally included a restriction to exclude Player predictions of 0-0. This may be useful for Fun Jackpot events like Soccer with markets like: "Team A minute of 1st Goal vs Team B minute of 1st Goal" where a 0-0 result is likely and hence increasing the Fun Jackpot available pot.

A Host can elect to allocate portions of the available Fun Jackpot pot across multiple Fun Jackpot events. Thankfully the allocations are viewable by Punters (i.e. socially auditable).

What is a Delegate?

Hosts who have purchased the "Pro Plan" are able to assign various Host administration tasks to a maximum of 3 elected users. Each Delegare can be assigned the following permissions: Accept Fun Wagers; Reward Winners, Create & Edit Events and Create and Edit Jackpot Events. Each Delegate is assigned a globally unique name along with a password (minimum length of 6 and must include at least 1 upper case, 1 lower case and 1 number). As a Delegate is globally accessible, its important to provide a strong password and rotate/delete Delegates.
